BRATTLEBORO- Twilight Music presents an evening of cookin’ bluegrass and new acoustic roots music by Virginia-based quartet Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen on Friday, October 12, at 7:30 pm, at H-DT&G at 139 Main Street.

Solivan is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist who sings with power and passion, writes Americana songs that go straight to the heart, and combines elements of classic bluegrass with contemporary acoustic music. After six years performing with the Navy’s country/bluegrass band Country Current, he formed Dirty Kitchen, a tight knit group of some of the best bluegrass players on the scene today. Their self-titled debut album made Best of 2010 lists from coast to coast, and continues to be in heavy rotation on radio and Internet stations worldwide. In 2012, Solivan’s bluegrass cover of Kate Wolf’s “Across the Great Divide” was included in the Putumayo compilation CD “Bluegrass.”

In addition to Solivan (mandolin, fiddle, vocals), Dirty Kitchen features Danny Booth (acoustic bass, vocals), Mike Munford (banjo), and Chris Luquette (guitar). Hailing from the Chugach mountains near Anchorage, Alaska, Booth has toured with the Kathy Kallick Band, Spring Creek, and Bearfoot, and has performed with Ralph Stanley. Well known for his impeccable timing, exquisite tone, and jaw-dropping technique, banjoist Munford has shared the stage with the likes of Peter Rowan, the Rice Brothers, Lynn Morris, and Tony Trischka. Newest band member 21-year-old Seattle guitarist Luquette seamlessly crosses between world, jazz, rock, and bluegrass music. The dynamic quartet blends musical expertise and heartfelt passion in high-energy live performances of their unique brand of roots, Americana, bluegrass, and contemporary-acoustic influenced music.

Tickets are $16. For ticket reservations and information call (802) 254-9276. For more information visit www.dirtykitchenband.com and www.twilightmusic.org.
