To the Editor:

The second annual Deerfield Valley Food Pantry’s Benefit Motorcycle Ride was a huge success. August 25 was a beautiful day for a bike ride, the 110-plus-mile route we rode was scenic, the number of bikes participating in this year’s ride quadrupled from last year, and we raised $2,200.

Special thanks to Valley View Saloon for sponsoring the event and T-shirts, Valley Tees for their T-shirt sponsorship, Hannah Therrien for designing this year’s T-shirt, Dooley Boyd for developing this year’s ride route, and the following businesses for donating raffle prizes: Bartleby’s Books, Blue Mountain Produce, Boyd Family Farm, Brookside Stables, Catamount Environmental, Grafton Inn, Greene’s Service Center, Jim McGrath, Joe’s Home Cookin’, John McLeod, LTD/Vermont Bowl Company, Ma’s Sparkling Clean and More, Monadnock Harley-Davidson, Mount Snow, Nutmeg Inn, People’s United Bank, River Valley Market, The Roadhouse Restaurant, Shaw’s, Silo Restaurant, Valley View Saloon, West Dover Inn and Restaurant, West Dover Joe’s, and Wheeler Farm. And of course, thank you to all of the folks who participated in the event, we couldn’t have done it without your support.

We look forward to our third annual ride next August, see you there.

Deb Boyd, on behalf of the Deerfield Valley Food Pantry board of directors
