To the Editors:

On Thursday, June 7, 84 students from Halifax, Stamford, Readsboro, Marlboro, Dover, Whitingham, and Wilmington schools, first- through sixth-grades, competed in the 17th annual fitness day competition. The competition consisted of a 50-yard dash, 1/2 mile or mile run depending on grade level, curl ups, pull-ups, standing long jump, and a team relay. All athletes gave an amazing effort and were a great representation of sportsmanship and competition. We would like to thank all the volunteers for making this day one to remember for all our student athletes. Thanks to Alex Kennedy, Cassie Bratton, Evan Therrien, Jared Lambert, Bit Aekus, Nick Nilsen, Andrew Lange, DJ Lazelle, Justin Hicks, Maya Holschuh, Juliena D’Allessio, Kaylea Niles, TJ McCarty, Ian Murdock, and Jen Nilsen for all their hard work and time.
