STRATTON-The 10th annual Tubbs Snowshoe Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer, to benefit the Vermont-New Hampshire affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, kicks off on Saturday, January 28, at Stratton Mountain Resort’s Nordic Center. The organizers’ goal for this year’s event (a choice of a 3k or 5k snowshoe walk or a 3k snowshoes race) is an admittedly lofty one, to break last year’s record-breaking numbers in both participation (880 rompers) and money raised ($96,900).North America’s largest snowshoe series, there are now seven romps across the United States and two in Canada, the Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Series has raised over $1.8 million for breast cancer research and education.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating our 10th year romping in Vermont! Stratton Mountain is home to our first Romp to Stomp event in history and we are excited to continue our partnership again this year,” says Stephanie Yankeh, marketing events manager for Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series.

With its gorgeous course that leads snowshoers of all ages and abilities through incredibly beautiful wooded trails, the Stratton Romp is a not-to-be-missed event for hundreds of folks. A true family-friendly affair, the Romp encourages “Lil Rompers,” kids from 0 to 12 accompanied by a registered adult, to get in on the action, too. And new for this year, participants are invited to enjoy a warm, pre-Romp pancake breakfast at Stratton’s Sun Bowl Base Lodge at discounted rates to kick off the morning of fun.
