To the Editor:

On behalf of the Staib family, I want to extend my many infinite thanks to everyone who has lent a hand for support, help, and kind words. This is just the beginning for this family and they have a long rough road ahead of them. Both Mr. and Mrs. Staib are ill and are struggling to stay positive through the fire that had taken their home on December 17.

They say lightning doesn’t strike twice, this does not ring true for the Staib family. Forty some years ago they suffered a fatal fire. Later in the flood of 1976 fate struck again and once again they lost it all. However, this is a family of perserverience and for the last 30 years, they have lived on a hill top over looking the village of Wardsboro.

This past Saturday, once again, disaster took place. They had yet another tragic fire, losing it all, including a family pet. This family has had their share of hardships but has always rolled with the punches. Through the years, they have had too many losses to mention.

I am asking on behalf of the Staib’s family for donations, as their resources are exhausted. Anything is welcome and appreciated. Thank you for your kindness.

Laurie Gallagher
