The Friends of the Wardsboro Library want to thank everyone who attended the Gilfeather Turnip Festival on Saturday, October 23. It was a perfect fall day and turnip shoppers were there by the hundreds to buy turnips, seeds, turnip-logo souvenirs, and to enjoy Gilfeather turnip soup and tastings. Thanks to everyone who helped to prepare the delicious tastings and soup. The crafters and farmers’ market vendors added to the fun for festival shoppers. The turnip contest was also a popular attraction and we thank Roger Allbee, Vermont Director of Agriculture, for judging all of the turnip entries. Thanks to all who entered the contest and to all those who grew turnips for the Friends to sell or cook up into tasty treats.
