To the Editor,

On Wednesday, August 2, the Wilmington Selectboard adopted a new traffic ordinance for the town.

One part of this ordinance prohibits overnight parking (2 am to 6 am) in two downtown municipal parking lots between November 15 and April 15 each year.

My question is, what are the people who live in apartments that don’t have their own parking area supposed to do with their cars, which also cannot be parked on the street?

Also, there are people who work downtown later than 2 am and earlier than 6 am.

If you think this was not a well thought out part of this ordinance, please sign the petition that has been placed in several locations in town.

Then, it will be important to attend the special town meeting, if it proves to be necessary, in order to fix this.
