My husband and I had the good fortune to take our recyclables to the Dover Transfer Station the other day. We were surprised and pleased to meet Mr. David Smith, the new proprietor of the Dover Transfer Station. I don’t know if one could use the descriptive word wow to describe the Dover Transfer Station, but, wow! Mr. Smith did a terrific job of cleaning up and organizing the Dover Transfer Station. We always felt that the reason we chose Vermont each year was due to the fact that we believe in a “green environment” not only in flora and fauna but also, in the mind set of the local government and people. We must say that now we truly feel that Dover fits the description in every sense of the word due to the hard work, interest, and understanding of the attitude: Recycle, reuse, and compost!
Not only was Mr. David Smith proud of the work he has done, he uses the Dover Transfer Station to educate the Dover Transfer Station users so that we will all benefit from understanding the necessity of reducing the waste in our landfills. This will not only benefit us as a community but will help ensure a “green future” for visitors and local families for generations.
We would like to recognize the fine job that Mr. Smith has done in the short time he has occupied the job.
