HUNTINGTON STATION, NY- Merwyn H. Tarlov, 86, died at his home on September 29 after a brief battle with cancer.

Mr. Tarlov was born and raised in Norwalk, CT. He moved to Long Island, NY, in 1965 where he worked for John Hancock Insurance Co., raised his family, and spent his retirement years.

Mr. Tarlov enjoyed working around his homes on indoor and outdoor projects. He was a sports enthusiast and loved spending holidays and occasional weekends with his family at their home in East Dover.

Mr. Tarlov was predeceased by his wife Joan. He is survived by sons Robert (Claudia), of Colchester, CT, Gary (Elizabeth), of Levittown, Donald, of Vero Beach FL; daughters Laurie, of Hauppauge, and Nancy, of Colchester, CT; grandchildren Christopher, Kendall, John, Alexa, and Serena; and two brothers, Jay (Marina), of Wilmington, DE; and Alvin (Janet), of Tucson, AZ.

Donations can be made in Mr. Tarlov’s name to Norwalk High School Scholarship Foundation.
