To the Editor:

It is with great pride and pleasure that the board of directors of Memorial Hall announce that we have been awarded a $30,000 Cultural Facilities Grant by the Vermont Arts Council. This matching grant will be paired with local funding for the construction of a new handicap ramp as well as new handicap bathrooms, which will bring our historic hail into full ADA compliance. It has been a major goal of the Memorial Hall board to make the hall fully accessible to all our citizens.

This grant, along with a matching grant of $6,250 from the Hart family trust for planning work, brings a total of $36,250 to Memorial Hall.

Both grants were developed and written by two members of the Memorial Hall board. Our fellow citizens may be assured that all the members of the Memorial Hall board will continue to work to preserve, protect, and promote our town’s treasure.

The board has two vacancies. We invite any person interested in joining the board to come to one of our meetings which take place monthly on the second and fourth Monday at 3 pm at the town hall.

Sincerely

Jeanne R. MacDougall, chair

Carlotta Giadding, secretary
