STRATTON– The Fourth of July is summer at its best and Stratton throws a mean party for Independence Day. The annual Mountain Friends and Freedom celebration features fireworks, live music, barbecues, games, and festivities for the whole family on Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1.

There’s something for everyone and a whole mountain as a playground. Relax in the grass to live music, challenge a rival to horseshoes or tug of war, or climb higher to enjoy the scenery from the summit. Cap off a bang-up weekend on Saturday with a fireworks gala at 9 pm.

Highlights will include gondola rides each day from 10 am to 5 pm. On Saturday, activities begin at noon with free live music in the Village, continue with a barbecue and hayrides from 4 to 8 pm, and conclude at 9 pm with the fireworks gala.

Cool down on Sunday, July 1, on a standup paddleboard, available from First Run, or with Sunday’s courtyard barbecue from 11 am to1 pm.
