DEERFIELD VALLEY- The 29th annual Harriman Reservoir Ice Fishing Derby will be held February 23 and 24, starting at 7 am Saturday and ending at 2 pm Sunday. This year there is a big change in the ticket prices, a single entry fee of $20 per contestant.

Guaranteed prizes include: $1,000, Overall Biggest Fish of Derby, sponsored by Auto Mall; $500, Biggest Fish Saturday, sponsored by DVSC; $500, Biggest Fish Sunday, by DVSC; $200 Taxidermy Mount by Bouker Taxidermy, first place drawing; $2,500 in board prizes, first $250, second $150, and third $100; 50/50 Truman Green Scholarship Award for a Twin Valley High School senior; Kayla Lackey Trophy Award, by the Lackey family, for the three heaviest combined perch for youth ages 1-8; Fastest Hand Auger Contest, sponsored in memory of “Mr. Bill” Cox and Brown Computers, for youth 14 and younger; Conservation Camp Scholarships sponsored by TransCanada and DVSClub; and Chinese auction items.
