WILMINGTON/WEST DOVER- The Vermont Life Wine and Harvest Festival announces its first cooking competition that will be open to the public. This competition is presented and judged by the Twin Valley schools’ own 10-time state champion Jr. Iron Chefs and Grand Master Lonny Paige. The competition will take place at 1pm on Saturday, September 21, at the sixth annual Vermont Life Wine and Harvest Festival at Mount Snow Resort. There will be a knife skills workshop followed by a cooking competition. Participants will prepare a mystery recipe under the guidance of a Junior Iron Chef coach. The competition is open to all cooking skill levels, from beginners to seasoned chefs.
The Twin Valley Iron Chefs program has been a huge success. Now, participants from all over the community can get a sense of what Jr Iron Chef kids have been doing over the last several years.
Judging and awards presentation will be at 3 pm on the Grand Tasting Stage. Open to ages 11 and up, the judging will include junior, senior, and mixed age divisions. Cost to register is $20 per person. Space is limited. Sign up individually or as a team of up to four people. Teams and individuals should sign up in advance by calling the chamber of commerce at (802) 464-8092.
