Beat back winter blues with library fun

DOVER- Take a break from the winter blues and add a little spice to family time by joining the Dover Free Library at one or all of the free programs for children and families during the Winter Break Fun Week February 15 through 21. Some programs may require registration.

On Saturday, February 15, “Love Your Library Scavenger Hunt” anytime between 11 am and 1 pm. Looking for a little Saturday something? Stop by the library for a self-guided scavenger hunt. Find all the clues, solve the puzzle, and earn a prize sure to warm your heart. All ages are invited to participate.

On Monday, February 17, pizza party at 5:30 pm. Whet an appetite for pizza and some good stories at the same time. Join in for pizza-themed books and activities. Reservations are appreciated, but don’t be late for dinner…first come, first served.

On Tuesday, February 18, Movie Matinee from 2 to 4 pm. Enjoy a showing of a popular Disney film on the big screen. Film rated G. Check the library website for details or call (802) 348-788. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

On Wednesday, February 19, there will be an Olympics storytime at 10:30 am. It’s that time again, let the games begin. Come listen to some award-winning children’s books read by the librarian and power up for games and crafts. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

On Friday, February 21, LEGOlympics (registration required) from 4 to 6 pm (ages 7 and up.) Calling all LEGO builders to the sixth LEGO Challenge. Inspired by this year’s winter games, LEGOlympics will challenge competitors to use creativity, strategy and engineering together with physical balance and agility to gain a spot on the award podium.
