WILMINGTON- The annual Independence Day celebration and fireworks will take place at Baker Field on Friday, July 6. Starting at 6 pm there will be a barbecue, live entertainment featuring “Jacksonville Blues Band,” cotton candy, ice cream, games for the kids, and vendors. Fireworks will follow at approximately 9:15 pm. Rain date is July 7. The fireworks are sponsored by the Mount Snow Valley Chamber of Commerce, the town of Dover, and the town of Wilmington. The MOOver has again generously signed up to offer a park-and-ride to and from the free parking locations to help with traffic delays on routes 9 and 100.

The MOOver Route 100, West Dover–Wilmington buses depart the Health Center at the top of the hour 7 am through 8 pm. The last northbound bus to Mount Snow leaves the health center at 8 pm. The 8:30 pm MOOver leaving Mount Snow goes only as far as the high school and will not continue on to the health center. The last southbound MOOver from Mount Snow is 8:30 pm. Extra MOOvers will wait at the high school until the fireworks are over, and then will travel north to Mount Snow. These buses have a brown 7 on them and say Wilmington-Dover, they will not stop at the Howe Farm park and ride lot.

There will be a park-and-ride lot at the Howe Farm about three miles north of Wilmington from 5 to 9 pm. Park there and ride the special buses that have a green A on them and say “Special.” Look for the same bus on the return trip.  After the fireworks, do not get on the Route 100 MOOver buses with the brown 7 on them as these will not stop at the Howe Farm field.

There will be a park-and-ride lot at Deerfield Valley Supply (W&W) about one mile west of Wilmington from 5 to 9 pm. Park there and ride the special buses that  have a black C on them and say “DV Supply.”

There will be a park and ride lot at the new town garage in Chimney Hill on Haystack Road. Park there from 5 to 9 pm and get on the bus in front of the Green Mountain Power building.
