To the Editor,

I have known Becky Morris since we took geometry class together in high school. Over the years I have watched her be a partner in a successful restaurant here in Wilmington, raise her children, and figure out just how to manage all this while staying in Wilmington.

As many of you know, it would probably be easier elsewhere, yet we stay committed to this town we call home. Too many of us have three or four jobs per household in order to choose to continue to live here. Regretfully a full 16% of our population has left over the past 10 years.

Becky has watched this happen and has said she wants to do something about it.

I applaud her thoughtful letter published in The Deerfield Valley News on February 7 in which she announced her candidacy for the open seat on the selectboard being vacated by Tom Consolino. I believe Becky will approach this position with an open mind, knowing the commitment it takes to study the issues and make informed, thoughtful decisions for the future of our town.

Please join me in supporting Becky Morris for selectboard this Town Meeting.

Adam Grinold
