DOVER- It was another busy weekend for the Mount Snow Academy skiers and riders as they competed at Okemo, Waterville Valley, and Magic Mountain. Three pairs of teammates earned the pleasure of climbing the podium together.

The riders and freestyle skiers were at Okemo for slopestyle on Saturday and halfpipe on Sunday. Calvin Lyons (Marlboro) and Thomas Neal (Wallingford, CT), freestyle skiers in the 13-15 age category, took gold and bronze spots on the podium in halfpipe, and fifth and seventh in slopestyle. Another podium pair was Max Lyons (Marlboro) and David McCarthy (Pawling, NY), snowboarders who took the first and second spots in halfpipe among junior men (ages 16-17). McCarthy also took second in slopestyle. Among Breaker girls (ages 12-13), Ali Hsueh (Closter, NJ) took second in both slopestyle and the pipe, and was followed by teammate Sari Richards (New Paltz, NY) who claimed the bronze in slopestyle and came in fifth in halfpipe. Among youth men (ages 14-15), Ryan Gormley (Wyckoff, NJ) came in seventh in pipe and 10th in slopestyle.

Another group of freestylers traveled to Waterville Valley, NH, to compete in the East Free Tour. Juniors Allison Perotti (Canaan, CT) and Connor Clayton (West Simsbury, CT) each placed fourth overall in their respective slopestyle competitions.

The alpine U14 girls went to Magic Mountain for a Southern Vermont Council Saturday slalom. Alexandra Welter (Babylon, NY) took eighth, Danie Edwards (Stamford, CT) ninth, and Leah Montello (Stamford, CT) 14th. The U12 girls competed at Bromley in a stubby slalom in which Ariana Welter (Babylon, NY) came in fifth among the 50 skiers.
