Keita has been the lead drummer for his village of Sangbarala, Guinea, since 2006. He is a fabulous djembe player and generous teacher who is experienced at teaching across cultures and skill levels. He is known for his love of his village, his respect for traditional music, and his infectious joy of life.

African dance classes have been going on each Wednesday evening at the Stone Church, 210 Main Street, for the past six years. There is a rotation of teachers, mostly of African descent. The dance teachers include Abdou Sarr, Pape Ba, Jai Fuller, Kabisco Kaba, and occasional guest teachers. There is always live drumming All levels are always welcome and the classes are accompanied by Keita along with other drummers. Classes are $10 and drums can be provided if needed. The dance class starts at 7 pm and the cost is on a sliding scale of $12 to $15.
