RUTLAND- Walden Carson Day, 85, died Thursday, September 27, at Rutland Health Care. He was born May 6, 1927 in LaCrosse, WI, the son of Harold and Nettie (Fisher) Day.

He was a graduate of Brattleboro High School, class of 1945. He was married to Eleanor (Dix) Day in 1956. Mr. Day was employed at various jobs in Brattleboro until 1954 when he moved to Vernon, CT, and was employed at Pratt-Whitney until he retired in 1986. After retiring the couple moved to Wallingford, where he was a member of the American Legion Ralph Pickett Post # 52 and the Wallingford Historical Society. He was a member of the Hogback Ski Patrol.

Surviving are his wife, Eleanor B. Day, of Rutland; a son, Dwight R. Day, of Duxbury; a daughter, Karen D. Penson, of Wilmington; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on October 2 at Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes. Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or to the Vermont Heart Association c/o Clifford Funeral Home 2 Washington Street, Rutland, VT 05701.
