NORTH ADAMS, MA- “The Interview,” written with curator and critic Thomas Boutoux, is a short play in the format of an interview, centering around artist Guillaume Leblon’s desire to produce a nontraditional text on his work. The absurdist play ultimately becomes that text, offering insight into Leblon’s own practice. Attendees can meet the artist following the 6 pm reading on Thursday, February 27, in MASS MoCA’s Club B-10.

The six-scene play follows an ongoing conversation between an artist and a critic, starting when the artist commissions a text from the critic, who in turn attempts to understand what the former wants from the project. The subsequent misunderstandings, agreements, and dissents cover everything from writing, art-making, and publishing to artistic paranoia, drinking in the afternoon, and Egyptian funeral practices.

Tickets are free for members and $7 for others. Tickets are available through MASS MoCA box office, located on Marshall Street, from 11 am to 5 pm (open every day except Tuesdays). Tickets can also be charged by phone by calling (413) 662- 2111, ext. 1, or visiting
