BRATTLEBORO- Open Music Collective is pleased to announce two great music learning opportunities in August, “Week of Rock” featuring Brattleboro’s Aaron Chesley of Headroom Stages August 5 to 9 and “Music with Jamie - A Mini Day Camp,” August 12 to 16.

“Week of Rock” is for all ages and abilities, with established bands welcome for band coaching. Meet and play with other musicians, work on performing, band development, and repertoire with Chesley and Jamie MacDonald. Learn how to better rehearse, groove, solo, and accompany while playing rock ‘n’ roll Monday through Friday. All instruments encouraged to apply. The week will culminate with a performance at Headroom Stages on Elliot Street.

“Music with Jamie” is a mini-music camp where emphasis will be on musicality. Major scales, basic harmony, and improvisation will be covered as well as Bach inventions to work on sight reading and rhythm, some basic harmony, and analysis. Listening might also be incorporated. All melodic instruments welcome and students will need a basic reading level and openness to work and learn.

Classes held in an handicap accessible, air conditioned suite in the Cotton Mill. For more information call (802) 254-5054 or email
