The “Roll Out the TRASH Barrels” fundraiser party at the Old Red Mill on December 5 was a huge success. A special thank you to all who came and donated to the fund to help buy trash cans for Wilmington Village. Your support and enthusiasm are what make Wilmington a special place to live and work.
A warm “thank you” to John Bertles and the “Bash the Trash Band” from Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. They entertained the students at Twin Valley schools during the day and guests at the party in the evening.
There are so many folks who worked to make this fundraiser a reality. Thank you to Sheila and Jerry Osler of the Old Red Mill, The Anchor, Folly Foods, Maple Valley Cheese, Blue Mountain Produce, and Sysco Foods. Also, Sara and Richard Sugarman who won the 50/50 raffle and generously donated it back for the town’s trash barrels. We offer our apologies to whomever we inadvertently missed on this thank-you list.
Mini “trash” cans can be found at numerous local businesses over the next few months for those who wish to contribute to the fund. We thank the many participating businesses in the donation drive effort.
The design committee of Wilmington Works embraces the organization’s mission statement: “To build, improve and support a vital downtown that benefits the entire Wilmington community.” Look for more exciting events to develop and join as we revitalize our beautiful and historic downtown.
