Volunteers at Tough Mudder New England will receive: Discounted participant entry. Volunteers have the opportunity to run a future Tough Mudder event for $20 (if they volunteer for a full day) or $40 (if they volunteer for a half day); discounted merchandise. Volunteers receive 20% off Tough Mudder merchandise at the event; and free stuff. All volunteers receive a Mudder MVP T-shirt, as well as food, a beer, and access to the Dos Equis Post-Party. Special volunteer parking is also provided.
Volunteers can join the team at Tough Mudder New England on Saturday from 6 am to 7 pm, or in half-day shifts from 6 am to 1 pm or 11:30 am to 7 pm. On Sunday, volunteer shifts are 7 am to 5:30 pm for a full day, or 7 am to 1 pm or 11:30 am to 5:30 pm for a half day.
Designed by British Special Forces, Tough Mudder events feature military-style obstacles such as “Funky Monkey,” greased-up incline and decline monkey bars; “Fire Walker,” a run through four-foot-high flames; and “Electroshock Therapy,” a gauntlet of 10,000-volt-charged dangling wires participants must barrel through to get to the finish line. The event is not about finish times or winning a medal—simply completing a Tough Mudder is a badge of honor. Tough Mudder is the largest supporter of Wounded Warrior Project and its mission to assist severely injured veterans. To date, the Tough Mudder community has raised more than $5.7 million for Wounded Warrior Project.
