On Saturday night, October 20, my father, who was visiting from California, wanted to watch the Iowa versus Penn State football game. We knew it was on DirecTV. We called the Valley View Saloon, and they said, “Come on down, we have all the games.” When we got there, the Saloon realized that they did not have a subscription for Big 10 package. We were disappointed, but chalked it up to bad luck. We ordered some apps and before we knew it, the game was on the big HD screen right in front of us. Raime had called DirecTV and ordered the season right then and there. Well, Iowa was crushed, but the food was spectacular, the scene was festive, and the Saloon came through.
It is the actions of business owners like Raime and Erica who make our town a place people want to visit and a place to return. This is why Dover will thrive.
