GREENFIELD, MA- Norman Richard Lapointe, 79, died on Monday, January 20, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center after fighting a lengthy battle with declining health. He was born in Easthampton, MA, on September 20, 1934, the son of Wilfred and Aldea Lapointe.

He grew up in Chesterfield, MA, and attended local schools. A stonemason by trade, he was self-employed until his retirement.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 30 years, Lois (Carpenter), son Robert of Jacksonville, VT, daughter Lorraine Gierloff of Brattleboro, VT, daughter Tina Blais of West Halifax, VT, daughter Donna Bolduc of Newport, NH, son David Snow of Eagle River, AK; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Besides being an avid reader, Mr. Lapointe loved his garden, playing cards with friends, and being at the beach in Maine with his family. He also loved his New England sports teams, especially his Boston Red Sox.
