DOVER- Guests at the Mount Snow Oktoberfest annually enjoy a great selection of beer. There will be 19 different breweries this year, as well as authentic German fare and tons of games for both the big kids and the little kids, all while being serenaded by live oom-pah music.

This year, the resort has added some more great activities, games, and events to further enhance what is traditionally a fun-filled weekend, including:

The Gulp and Gallop 5K Beer Run, they say one should hydrate when going for a run. Good thing beer is made mostly out of water.

This fun run on Saturday will take participants on four laps around the base of the mountain and each time the runners pass through the festival venue there is a choice of crisp, clear water or a cup of beer.

Prizes for best costumes. Cost is $15 per person and must be 21 or over to participate. Advance registration is available at

The Kool Aid 1K, for the young ones that want to run off all that schnitzel. Another fun run that will be held later in the day on Saturday is one lap on a trail near the base area of the mountain with a refreshing cup of Kool Aid waiting at the finish line. Free to participate.

Yodeling contest. Get the vocal chords ready to impress the crowd with a serenade that can only be appreciated at an Oktoberfest event.

Fun at the Summit Lodge. Not only do participants get to enjoy the breathtaking fall foliage from a bird’s eye view when they take the Bluebird Express for a scenic chairlift ride, but at the summit there will be live entertainment and some special draft beers.

Burton “13” Movie Premier. After the festival is over on Saturday, the Snow Barn will be hosting the premiere of Burton’s new movie, “13,” with live music to follow. There is no cover charge. Doors open at 5:30 pm.

Burton Dry-land Riglet Park, for the little riders to get their chops up before snow is even on the ground, this special Burton Riglet Park will be available to try both days during the festival.

Admission to the 15th annual Mount Snow Oktoberfest for the 21-plus crowd is $20 for one day, $30 for two days, and includes one commemorative stein and a beer token for each day of admission. For the under-21 crowd and designated drivers, admission is $12 for one day and $20 for two days, which includes a coupon for a complimentary soft drink each day.

Hours are 11 am to 5 pm both Saturday, October 6, and Sunday, October 7, with live music from the Oberlaendler Hofbrau Band all weekend long.

Scenic chairlift rides on the Bluebird Express to the summit of Mount Snow are available for $10 per person.

The Main Base Lodge will be home to the 39th annual Harvest Arts and Crafts Fair featuring local artisans and food vendors selling their creations beginning at 9 am on Saturday and Sunday; admission to the arts and crafts fair is free.
