BRATTLEBORO- How did a 19th century French magician stop an Algerian rebellion by performing a simple magic trick? How did ancient magicians entertain Egyptian pharaohs? What was Harry Houdini known for before becoming famous? All of these secrets and more will be revealed at the Hooker-Dunham Theater on Sunday, November 26, and Sunday, December 3, at 1 pm, with the hit new interactive comedy magic show, “4000 Years of Magic.”

This production is much more than a comedy magic show, said Jonas Cain, who acts as writer, producer, and performer for the one-man production,The magician says that he was inspired to write this show after the untimely death of a prominent magician. Cain says that guests will experience magic made famous by prominent magicians from throughout history, including a rendition of the sawing-in-half illusion, a demonstration of apparent psychic abilities, and a card trick that fooled Cain during a 2014 visit to Chicago during the polar vortex.

The Hooker-Dunham Theater is located at 139 Main Street. Tickets are $12 and will be available at the door. Reserve tickets by calling (800) 969-9778 or visiting
