To the Editor,

The Vermont Legislature will have three major challenges in January 2015: Health care financing, education governance and funding, and the economy.

Building on experience and established relationships with colleagues in the House, the Senate and the administration allows me to continue to give our district the best representation In Montpelier.

Collaborating with House Health Care Committee members, I supported our move toward a single payer system. In a nonpartisan coalition, I was part of preventing state-mandated school consolidation and the defunding of small schools. By networking, I helped advance the interests of small businesses and working Vermonters through economic development and raising the minimum wage.

Moving forward in healthcare, we will improve the enrollment process and determine the financing for universal coverage. Responding to local direction, we will address education governance and funding, recognizing the importance of small schools and the need to reduce property tax. Reversing economic inequality through improved worker conditions, small business development and tax reform, we will continue to make Vermont worker and business friendly.

Mindful of the honor already bestowed upon me and with urging from constituents, I stand again as a candidate to represent Dover, Readsboro, Searsburg, Somerset, Stamford, Wardsboro, and Whitingham in the Vermont House.

I ask for your support.

John Moran
