I was disappointed to see a recent letter to the editor in The Deerfield Valley News from a Doctor Elder of Wilmington. He saw the LED lamps that were being sold at the Chamber of Commerce in Wilmington and was unhappy with Sylvania.
LED lighting is changing quickly. Costs are coming down and light output is going up. These days, comparing LED lamps is much like the weather, “If you don’t like it, wait a minute.” I suspect that you will see two new versions of a 60-watt replacement LED Sylvania lamp this year. One of the trickiest issues is to match an LED replacement lamp to a compatible dimmer. LED replacement lamps operating on a noncompatible dimmer may make noise, even at full output.
The Sylvania 78907 is in many sockets in Vermont and I have never had a complaint about noise. There are many reviews and surveys that rate the Sylvania lamp very highly. I believe that picking a couple random quotes from the Internet to judge the quality of a product is unfair. I would be happy to send a couple lamps to Dr. Elder of Wilmington, so that he can judge the quality of light and noise for himself. I believe that he will be satisfied.
