WILMINGTON- For nearly a decade Wilmington’s Mo’ Jazz Café, an intimate bohemian-style haunt that was housed beneath the Wilmington Village Pub, served as the only legitimate club offering jazz in the area. Pianist Christopher Bakriges held court at Mo’ Jazz, often appearing with artists making the pilgrimage from around the world. This summer, Bakriges is joined by various special guests to commemorate and honor the café in a monthly series entitled “Mo’ Jazz Remix.”

On Friday, July 12, Mo’ Jazz Remix will be at Memorial Hall at 8 pm featuring Eric Nathan’s Bangin’ Around Quartet. Eric Nathan will be on drums, Steve Maclaughlan on saxophone, Rich Mollin on bass, and Bakriges on piano.

Refreshments, wine, and beer will be available and all proceeds will benefit the Deerfield Valley Rotary Club. There is no admission cost but donations will be happily accepted.

The Deerfield Valley Rotary meets every Wednesday at the Matterhorn at 8 am. Those interested in becoming a member can contact a Deerfield Valley Rotarian or Alan Greenspan at (802) 464-8896.
