Halbur scores JSC final goal

JOHNSON- Visiting University of Maine-Farmington ended the Johnson State College men’s soccer season on Saturday, October 20, as the visiting Beavers topped JSC 3-1 in North Atlantic Conference action at Minaert Field. The Badgers end their campaign at 1-16, 0-9 NAC while Farmington improves to 2-14, 1-7 NAC.

UMF received scores from senior Jake Constantine (Woodland, NJ), freshman Dahir Muktar (Lewiston, ME), and senior Michael Kelly (Norton, MA) while sophomore Matt Potter (Waterville, ME) and sophomore Luiz Ristow (Joinville, Brazil) each earned assists.

Johnson’s single score came courtesy of a converted penalty kick by senior Chandler Halbur, of Wilmington. Halbur’s conversion of the penalty kick came after freshman Brendan Mulhern (Durham, NH) was pulled down inside the box after a nice move freed him up.

The match ended the regular season for both teams. Both teams were on the outside looking in at the NAC playoff tournament.
