WILMINGTON- A Vermont native and life-long artist, Joan Lovell is currently one of the featured artists at the Ann Coleman Gallery Collective Artists’ Space, located at 7 North Main Street. Several years ago, Lovell was able to return to her roots and lives in a simple off-grid cabin in Vermont’s Green Mountain National Forest.

Lovell’s work tells the story of this simple dirt road that runs 10 miles along a river, interrupted now and then by an off-grid camp or trailhead, and ending at the serene and pristine Somerset Reservoir.

Lovell works in a multitude of mediums from printmaking, painting, photography, firing up her small sawdust kiln and sometimes make temporary art installations in the woods. She has also contributed to several Deerfield Valley public art projects as well as the Vermont State Arts Council.

The current show, “Waterworks,” runs through August 28. The next show “Awesome Autumn,” will have its opening reception on August 31, from 5 to 7 pm.

Gallery hours are every day 10 am to 5 pm, and Friday and Saturdays, 10 am to 6 pm. For more information call (802) 379-4305 or visit www.artistAnnColeman.com.
