Ellie Roden and Phillip “Shooter” Russett were happy to be back at the counter at Dot’s Restaurant in Wilmington. Shirlee Sullivan waited behind the counter to take their order. The village landmark became the symbol of the damage and destruction caused by Tropical Storm Irene in August 2011. The eatery reopened Thursday, more than two years after floodwaters knocked it off its foundation. The building has been picked up, reset on a new flood-resistant foundation, and completely renovated inside.
