To The Editor,

The first annual Wellness in Windham Health Festival, organized and coordinated by Grace Cottage Hospital, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, and the Brattleboro Retreat, on September 22 was a great success. The Retreat lawn provided a perfect setting for the wide variety of free activities, including entertainment (Zumba dancing and hula-hooping were huge hits), over 50 booths with interactive demonstrations, free health screenings, fun for children of all ages, and fabulous food for all.

A special thanks to Richards Inc. for sponsoring Grace Cottage Hospital’s participation in the event, and to members of the Rotary Club of Brattleboro and the Brattleboro Sunrise Rotary Club for volunteering with setup, takedown, and parking; the Brattleboro Retreat facilities department was also a tremendous help. We look forward to next year’s festival but, meanwhile, keep tabs on the other healthy activities provided throughout the year by the three health care organizations at

Cathy Tallen, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital

Jill Terrell-Ouazzani, The Brattleboro Retreat

Elizabeth Harrison, Grace Cottage Hospital
