DOVER- Mount Snow Academy’s snowboarders competed at the National Snowboard championships at Copper Mountain, CO. In the junior men’s division (ages 16 and 17), Austin Schweyher took the gold medal in the halfpipe and Wyatt Mosher took the bronze. In slopestyle, Dillon Wilson claimed the second spot and Austin Schweyher took third. Among junior women, Christina DeJoseph placed third in halfpipe, with teammate Ericka Biagioni right behind her in fourth place. Biagioni also placed sixth in slopestyle. In the youth division (ages 14 and 15), Chris Abel took seventh in men’s halfpipe.
Among youth women, Noelle Edwards collected the silver medal in halfpipe and the bronze in slopestyle. Edwards, who competed in all five disciplines at the nationals, earned the fourth spot overall among women in her division. Jessica Gibson, 17, competed this year in the Women’s Open division. She took 10th in slopestyle.
