BRATTLEBORO- Local artist John Gerding’s work is on exhibit at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center and featured on VPR. Gerding’s large scale installation sculptures were built over the course of several days of creatively and meticulously stacking four cords of firewood into beautiful curvilinear forms. The two large scale sculptures, “Ring” and “Arc” have been on display since the end of March and will remain at the museum through October 21.

A story about Gerding and his “Woodstack” sculptures was featured on Vermont Public Radio in September in an essay by Brattleboro writer Dede Cummings. Listen to the VPR story at www.vpr.net/episode/54381/cummings-wood-pile-art.

Gerding and his wife, glass artist Jen Violette, live on a small farm in Wilmington. Gerding’s new website is coming soon at www.johngerding.com.
